The day of surgery
We asked Paul some questions about the choices he made when he decided to have Hair Transplant Surgery and his experience throughout the day.

Paul kept us updated for two weeks following his Hair Transplant Surgery.
Christopher’s Comments
Paul is a 32 year old gentleman who had noticed hair loss since 20 years of age. He presented with a typical history of male pattern hair loss and was interested in improving the appearance of the frontal half.
We discussed both the surgical and non surgical side of hair restoration. I advised Paul to consider starting Finasteride +- topical Minoxidil to preserve his existing hair and advised a FUE procedure to increase the density to the hairline, temples and behind the frontal tuft.
Paul subsequently started medication and we performed a mid size FUE procedure of 1729 grafts. For this case we used a 0.85mm punch. The breakdown of the 1729 grafts extracted was, 340 – 1 haired follicles, 917 – 2 haired follicles and 472 – 3 haired follicles. That is an average of 2.1 hairs per graft.
